First Thanksgiving!

This year since we had Rhyen so close to
Thanksgiving we decided to stay in Utah. We cooked our
very first Thanksgiving meal. To our surprise
everything turned out perfect.
(we had a back up plan just in case)
Although we missed our family, it was nice to have it be
just the 3 of us for Thanksgiving!
Rhyen was dressed for the occasion!

Two Weeks Old

Rhyen is two weeks old today!
Today we did some tummy time for the first time
ever and to my surprise she loved it!

We Can't Wrap!

Ya know how you are supposed to wrap babies up so tight they
can't move? Well apparently Clay and I can't wrap.
About 30 seconds after we think we have wrapped
her the tightest we possibly can out come these little
hands. She's Houdini!

Bath Time

On Sunday we decided to give Rhyen her first bath at home.

Let's just say she doesn't like to
be any sort of naked. She does
however like her hair to be washed.
She is my child afterall! It actually has some curl to it, don't know
where that came from.

Homecoming!

Finally the wait is over! Our little miss got to
come home yesterday!
We were so excited we couldn't wait to get her home.
After watching CPR videos and her hour long
test run in her car seat they set us free!

After 9 days in the hospital we were happy to
see her, as Clay calls it, wireless!

Rocker Chick!

They moved Rhyen's I.V. to her foot so now we
can actually see her hair on top. Who would have
guessed we would have a rocker chick! I'm sure everyone
who knows me has figured out that
I love the mohawk!
Rhyen comes home tomorrow!

Rhyen Claire

If you are getting sick of pictures of Rhyen too bad because
here they are!
Update: We thought that Rhyen would be coming
home today but the doctors think it is best that
she have a full 7 days on antibiotics.
As much as we want her home, and as hard as it is
for us, at least we will know that she is all
better when she comes home.
Yes she does have eyes! We rarely see her eyes open.
(she is like her mom and loves to sleep)
Daddy had perfect timing with the camera!

This is rare, she usually doesn't snuggle me like this.

Rhyen loves to snuggle her daddy! Aren't they cute?!

Rhyen Update

She is getting cuter by the minute. Not even 48
hours old! How adorable!

It looks like a cast on her arm but it is just an I.V.
It looks cute but I feel bad for her. She also had a
little bit of oxygen through her nose
but now she is doing great without oxygen.

I haven't had too many chances to
hold her because she has been in
the special care the whole time.
I cherish the time I get to spend with her.
She had a hole in her lung but we just got
word that the radiologist could not see it in the
X-Rays anymore. We are so happy to hear it.

Grandma and Grandpa Kraucyk got to hold
Rhyen for a few minutes. Shortly after
we found out the Rhyen has an infection
and now she can only be held by us and only
when we are trying to nurse her. I am pretty
sure she already stole grandpa's heart.

Rhyen will have to stay in the hospital 5-10
more days to make sure the infection goes
away completely.

We go home tonight at 10 while
our poor baby stays at the hospital.

Clay is already a great dad! He is wrapped
around her finger already!

Our first family photos! I know I look so pretty
but give me a break. 17 + hours of labor and
up for 24 hours straight with a baby in
special care. Not so much sleep on my part.

Baby Rhyen Is Here, Finally!

Rhyen is finally here! After being 8 days
late and 17+ hours of labor she made her
debut.
She decided to come out lop sided she had a
cone head, but by 3 in the morning it is no
longer a conehead. She has all 10 fingers and
10 toes.
She was born 7lbs. 5oz. 201/2 inches long.

Rhyen is doing good but has been in special care
since delivery. She has a little whole in
her lungs and is being monitored.
We are not quite sure if she will be
going home with us yet but the doctor
is optimistic. No surgery is needed, they say it
should heal on it's own

Almost A Week Overdue

Baby Rhyen is being stubborn. That's right no baby yet
(and please no stories of how I have just made it so nice and
cozy in there for her). The Induction date is on Wednesday.
No word on what time yet, so everyone please be patient.
All of you will be getting texts on
Thursday I am sure (since I am told that being
induced makes your labor longer, Lucky Me).
It's comforting to know that we have such wonderful
friends who are all excited for us. Look on
Wednesday and Thursday for pictures of our baby Rhyen.
We love you all and will talk to you soon!
